My Shed Plans By Ryan Henderson Review – Is It For Real?

One of the best structures you can have in your backyard is a wooden shed. It provides ample storage space to keep your tools and equipment clean and tidy.

However, if you were to purchase a shed for your backyard, the investment cost can be quite high. A medium size shed can cost upwards of $250. If you want a bigger shed, you may have to engage a professional contractor to build it for you.

As a cheaper alternative, you can build the shed via a Do It Yourself (DIY) approach. But to do so, you will need some construction and woodworking skills. If you have the required skill and knowledge, the next step is to acquire a good wooden shed construction plan.

Bunk Bed Plans From Ryan Henderson My Shed Plans Review

Apart from wooden shed plans, Ryan Henderson’s My Shed Plans package also come with a large collection of other woodworking project blueprints.

One particular section in on bed plans. In this blog post, I thought of writing a quick review on one of the bed plan I pulled out from the My Shed Plans members’ area.

The plan is a loft bed design especially for college students. At the top of the plan, there is a black and white picture of the completed bed.

The design is very simple hence one of the key features is the low cost. Most college students living away from home have to live on a very tight budget. I know because I’ve been there. Without much money, college students have to be creative to get the most out of limited resources.

In the blueprint, underneath the diagram of the completed bed, there is the instruction to make the bed. The most important step here is to measure the length and width of the mattress so it will fit into the bed frame.

Generally, the bed frame will fit any mattresses as long as it is less than 80 inches long and less than 34 inches wide.

Further down on the instruction section, there are 2 diagrams showing the joint connections. The first diagram shows how the cross piece and stretcher are connected to the support frame. The second diagram shows how the bolts and nuts tie in all the wooden members.

The bunk bed blueprints finishes off with a complete bill of material for the project. On a rough estimate, the college bunk bed can be made with a budget of less than $40. Most of the wooden members are standard size without any special feature. Hence, it can be purchased at any lumberyard.

All in all, the bunk bed project plan from Ryan Henderson’s My Shed Plans is very basic and easy to follow. The design is meant for college students where cost is a major factor. Therefore, everything has been stripped down to bare minimum.
